“Molikpak” is a modernized ice-class drilling platform. The name “Molikpak” means “big wave” in the language of the Eskimos of northern Canada, where this platform was previously based (in the Beaufort Sea). In 1998, a 15-meter intermediate steel foundation was added to the base of the “Molikpak” platform to install it in deeper waters near Sakhalin Island.
